Children up to the age of 18 may obtain a library card with the signature of their parent or guardian.
A weekly Preschool Story Time is offered for 3 - 5 year olds. It's a fun introduction to books and stories, and helps increase a child's attention span.
Each year, the Library sponsors a Summer Reading Club to encourage young readers. Participants keep track of the books they read, and attend special events at the Library.
Other special programs for children are held throughout the year.
All events at the Library are free and open to the public. Pre-registration is usually required.
Anyone is welcome to use the Library at any time; however, to check out materials, you must have a library card.
Library cards are free for anyone living in or owning property or a business in Maplewood. Library cards are also available for free to residents of St. Louis City, St. Louis County and St. Charles Library districts. It's easy to get a card: simply bring in identification showing your current address.
